Hello, magical human,

I hope you’re ready to fill your love cup tool kit and create some

New Habits for the New Year

The year 2022 is over, and 2023 is here.

Wait… what?

Well, at least 3 weeks in.

As far as I’m concerned the term “News Year’s Resolutions” can exit stage left.

All they have done for me is feed my anxiety, apply unnecessary pressure and stress.

And let’s be honest, we rarely keep them and when we don’t, that breeds a whole host of disorders.

Mainly living in your brain and feeling like an awful human being when you don’t quite make them.

So, I’m going to keep it real with you.

This my fellow unicorns is the time for some much-needed reflection and small mindset changes.

This is the process I took myself through and I want to share it with you.

We are going to set the right tone for the New Year ahead, together.

Because we all want more of something so let’s go get it together!

1. Real Talk Reflection!

Have a real conversation with yourself.

Looking in the mirror is working for me.

It may feel awkward at first but remember, we’re trying to get your thoughts out of your head and there is nothing more powerful than looking yourself in the eye and asking yourself what is happening.

Despite really wanting to make a change or make your goal real, what are you telling yourself?

• I’m not ready;

• It’s not the right time;

• I’m not good enough;

• I’m too old;

• I don’t have enough money/time/experience;

• It’s too hard;

• It will take too long;

• I may do it wrong;

• People will laugh at me;

Be honest about what’s stopping you from achieving what you want.

By acknowledging and being real with what is going on internally, you can then make specific changes to counter exactly what your inner gremlin tells you.

Which leads me to…

2. A shift in mindset

Every time your inner gremlin tells you that I’m not good enough, challenge the thought and ask for the receipts!

Why am I not good enough?

If it tells you that you that you’ll make a fool of yourself and people will laugh at you… question it, have I tried to do something that I found hard or something people thought was stupid, I did it anyway and succeeded?

Again, challenge that thought and ask for proof!

The more you practice challenging your thoughts, your inner gremlin will start to get more and more quiet and you’ll find the motivation to take action.

Don’t forget, The Leadership and Alignment Lounge episodes isn’t just about me talking at you, it's about starting a real and meaningful conversation. Make sure you share your thoughts below in the comments, subscribe to my YouTube Family and watch out for more content, just for you!

3. What Habits Do I Need to Change?

Let go of the fact that you didn’t reach your goal.

Let go of all the excuses or the reason that stopped you from achieving what you wanted.

It’s in the past fellow unicorn, and we can’t change that.

But what we can change is what happens next.

What changes do you need to make, in my day to day routine, to make a real difference in 2023.

What were you doing before that didn’t serve you?

What new habits do you need to incorporate to make you feel good?

Another thing that is going to give you motivation and take away some of the pressure is…

4. Astral Projection

Fly into your future and imagine you have already won.

It’s beautiful there…

What will it look like?

How will I feel once I’ve smashed this goal?

You are going to need this because when you are stressed, tired, pissed off, unmotivated, you are going to need to draw on something bigger then where you feel now and that is, the finish line.

And lastly…

5. Consistency

If you want to get fitter, and you haven’t worked out for months, please, please, PLEASE, don’t set a new routine of two hours a day, seven days a week.

That isn’t consistency that is torture.

Given everything else you have going on in your life. What is realistic?

You have to make sure that you are creating a balance between your personal time, family, friends, a career and maybe even a side hustle.

Start small and build from there.

By asking myself these simple, but tough questions, I have been busy coming up with my Vision for 2023.

Because, yes, I need a regular arse kicking too… I’m human!

What small changes can you make now, that will make a massive impact for you future?

Over to you!
